Hi everyone,
My name is Pascal. I'm the creator of this blog, both the content and the platform itself. I'm going to be open-sourcing the codebase once it gets to a more complete place but it was more important for me to get this up and running before the code was ready to be released.
I'm a Squamish, BC, based software developer currently working remotely for TD Securities.
Year-round, when not working, you can find me on the trails hiking or running, or hopping around town on my bike. In the summer that will expand to include my motorcycle as well as hanging out on the lake. In the winter, I trade in the motorcycle for a snowboard and venture north to Whistler with the family.
My wife and I moved to Squamish from Toronto in July 2022. We moved here so that we could raise our young child in a community that embraces an 'outdoor first' mentality. While I love software development, it's incredibly important to me to be able to get outside every single day once the workday is over. Play outside is almost always way better than staying inside, especially when you have the world's greatest playground at your doorstep.
All of this to say that while I'm interested in all sorts of great and interesting work, I'm not interested in any form of frequent in-office travel or relocation from Squamish. I value my personal time with my family too much.
